The Orthopedic Service offers comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of problems of the musculoskeletal system.
We have appointments available for active duty service members and TRICARE Prime. We also often have appointments available for TRICARE Standard military retirees and their dependents, and persons over 65 years of age.
Comprehensive rehabilitation services are offered in conjunction with the Moncrief Occupational and Physical Therapy Services.
Due to the high demand for our services, you must first be seen by your primary care provider. If you are active duty or another TRICARE Prime member, schedule this primary care appointment by calling (803) 751-CARE. If you see a civilian primary care provider who is not at Moncrief, you may obtain an orthopedic appointment by having this provider fax a consultation request to (803) 751-2372. Appointments for non-prime beneficiaries are on a space-available basis but space is often available. To inquire about the status of your initial orthopedic appointment, call our health care finders at (803) 751-2363.
The Orthopedic Clinic may be reached directly Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling (803) 751-2257 or (803) 751-2428.
Moncrief does not have an emergency room. However, if you are seen in an emergency room and would like to have urgent orthopedic care provided at Moncrief after your condition is stabilized, have your physician call the Orthopedic Clinic at (803) 751-2257 during business hours. After business hours, have your physician call the Acute Care Clinic.
