The Main Outpatient Pharmacy is located on the Ground Floor. Our pharmacy has 7 dispensing windows. Our Pharmacy is one of the busiest in MEDCOM, filling over 60,000 prescriptions per month.

We offer a prescription drop-off service. All patients utilizing this service must pull a drop off ticket from the blue kiosks located in front of  the concierge desk. Please ensure that you have confirmed your phone number with a technician so that the Pharmacy can let you know by text message when your prescription is ready for pickup. Drop-offs typically take a few hours to fill and process. If a few hours have passed and you haven’t received a text it is ready for pickup then please call Main Outpatient Pharmacy to make sure it has been processed before coming to the MTF. When you come back to pick up the medication please pull another ticket called "Return For Pick-Up (Dropped off Prescription)".

For your convenience and to avoid possible long waiting times, please present your prescription(s) outside of 1000 and 1400 hours. These are the hours when our prescription volumes are at their highest peak.

For the convenience of beneficiaries, the pharmacy has three locations: the main building ground floor, McWethy TMC, and the Post Exchange.  The TMC is for active duty only, the PX site is for call-in refills only, and the Main Outpatient pharmacy is full-service for all beneficiaries.

The pharmacy has an automated call-in refill prescription service for its users.  Prescriptions may be called in 24 hours a day ((803) 751-2250).

New prescriptions from other military medical treatment facilities, as well as civilian requests for medication will be filled when possible based on drug availability.  Refills from other military medical treatment facilities may be filled one time when possible based on drug availability as well.

Refill Pharmacy

All refill prescriptions called-in will be available for pick-up at the PX Pharmacy.  Walk-up refills are not accepted due to the volume of prescriptions filled at the Refill Pharmacy.   The telephone number for calling in your refills is (803) 751-2250.  Toll free 1-866-489-0950.

When calling in refills, the automated computer will answer the phone and walk you through the steps necessary to correctly refill your prescriptions. There are two pieces of information you need to have ready when you call:

1. The last four digits of the SPONSOR's social security number.

2. The numerical portion of your prescription number (Which is found on the top, left-hand corner of the prescription label.

To pick-up your prescriptions, bring in the patient's ID card.

Once called-in, prescriptions will be held for seven (7) business days, as our storage space is limited. Your use of this service will greatly reduce the waiting time at the Main Outpatient Pharmacy. Thank you for using our call-in service and we hope you find it enjoyable.

Prescription Refill By Phone

We have had an automated prescription call-in refill system for several years. Our current call-in refill system is a state-of-the-art computer system which interfaces directly with Moncrief’s AHLTA computer system for prescription information. We hope you will find our automated refill system to be convenient and easy to use. Please read the following instructions completely before you use the system. Our local refill telephone number is 803-751-2250. The Toll-Free number is 1-866-489-0950 (print for future reference).

  • Due to the large volume of refills, the refill turn-around time is 72 business hours.
  • Call in before noon on Monday, and it will be ready for pickup before noon on Thursday.
  • Call in by noon on Friday, and it will be ready for pickup in the afternoon on Tuesday.
  • Calls made after noon will be processed one day later.
  • Special Order Medications may require additional time for completion. Please allow 72-96 businsess hours for Special Order Medication Refills.

Touch Tone Prescription Refill Instructions:

Step 1. Enter the last 4 digits of the sponsor’s social security number, then the pound (#) key.

Step 2. Enter the seven digit prescription number, then the pound (#) key. Do not enter the letter prefix (e.g."RXJ").

Step 3. If you have more than one prescription enter these next as in Step 2. Remember, after the prescription number, press the pound (#) key.

Step 4. To complete the call, hang up.

Our call-in refill system is very "user friendly". The system will first ask you if you have a touch tone telephone. If you do, the system will ask you to press "1". The system offers you several options (eg. how to use the refill system and pharmacy hours of operation). If your prescription cannot be refilled, the system will tell you why. Some possibilities why a prescription cannot be refilled include:

* you have no refills remaining
* you provided the wrong prescription number
* the number may have been assigned during AHLTA down-time

Remember, the waiting time for refills not called into our automated system are normally longer than those called in at the PX Refill Pharmacy.
